Good health, good sleep and good skin. I don't ask for much when life gets really tough and busy (like right now) but sometimes even these three things can be impossible to secure, and that's where Vichy comes to the rescue!
Vichy's latest skin care line, Idealia, was created specifically to leave women with their ideal skin, regardless of environmental damage their skin may be exposed to, such as pollution, signs of aging and stress. The Idealia Skin Sleep gel-balm in particular was designed to leave skin feeling radiant, smooth and rested in the morning, while the Life Serum is supposed to brighten up the skin and refines the pores.
I received these two products to sample from Chickadvisor and was curious to see if these two products would stand up to their lofty claims!
Ideala Skin Sleep
The Vichy Skin Sleep gel-balm moisturizer unites a bunch of active igredients such as hyaluronic acid (a skin smoother and plumper) and glycyrrhizic acid, a compound found in liquorice root which prevents skin from flaking and helps it maintain moisture. Vichy's website recommended using the product 1-3x per week, but for the sake of this review, I decided to use it every day (also, let's be honest) my skin needed it.
The gel-balm was pink, bouncy and very soothing on the skin, and each evening I would apply a medium layer over my entire face and let it sink in as I slept. From even the first morning after using Skin Sleep, I noticed my skin was softer and looked MUCH more relaxed and healthy! I was really impressed with how noticable the results were. Now, two weeks later, I'm still finding that my skin is soft and supple in the morning, making me look rested even if I don't feel like I am! The balm does have a slightly-strong smell of floral, almost a jasmine, but I find it didn't irritate me. People with more sensitive noses may need to smell it before buying.
Idealia Life Serum
As an added bonus for the review of Skin Sleep, Vichy threw in a full-size bottle of their new Life Serum too. This serum is intended to be used under moisturizer in the AM or PM, specificaclly with the Idealia Skin Sleep gel-balm. Through the use of gold and pink micro-pearls, the serum definitely leaves the skin shiny and illuminated immediately after use.
I used this product under my gel-balm at night, and under my Purlisse moisturizer during the day. The serum was hypoallergenic and I found it did smoothe my pores... but really nothing else. The illuminating properties of the micro-pearls was nice, but not for the price point. If you already have a serum you like (I've been using my OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin C serum and I like it) stick with it and skip this one.
You can buy Idealia Skin Sleep for $52.00 and the Life Serum for $59 at Shoppers Drug Mart. But if you've already got a serum that works, skip this one and just get the Idealia Skin Sleep gel-balm instead. You won't regret it!
