This product was sent to me for review, all opinions are my own.
Anyone who has read more than a handful of my blogs knows that I have a few beauty obsessions in my life. Lipstick, nail polish ARE DEFINITELY tied for first, while body wash comes in right behind. As a kid you used to have to drag me out of The Body Shop or later from Lush because I'm VERY scent driven and have an urge to smell everything. This is probably why I don't have a signature scent today! Why pick one when I could pick all of them?
Don't tell anyone, but I actually may have six different body washes in my shower right now, but as long as I'm fresh and so clean, who am I hurting? I recently received Dove Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea Body Wash for review and was very happy to add another fragrance to my collection.
Over the last few years I've come to the realization that not all body washes are created equal. I seem to have developed fairly dry skin recently and while I never cared WHAT I used before (as long as it smelled good) now I definitely take note if the body wash is a) gentle b) hydrating and c) nourishing, and I'm happy to say that Dove's Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea body wash is all of the above.
Scent: The brand used to have a fairly aggressive cucumber body wash which had that weird fake-cucumber smell which always struck a bad chord with me, but the addition of a fresh and mildly floral green tea fragrance, this version is way more refreshing and joyful to use. The scent does linger after your shower, but it doesn't overpower so you can wear your own fragrance afterwards.
Hydration/After-Shower Feel: The hydration factor is pretty strong, my skin doesn't feel dried out like when I forget to bring my own body wash and have to use inferior cheap-hotel brand wash (the WORST) and there is no residue left on my skin. It had a decent amount of lather and suds but it's more on the creamy side than the gel side, which I greatly prefer.
All in all, a perfect budget beauty buy! I know it's not the most exciting thing in the world to talk about body wash, but we DO use these types of products on the daily, and I'm always happy to review something that's a good choice at a great price! You can find this body wash for 6.99-8.99 at Wal-Mart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall and more!
