What's this?! Another Mani Monday post so close to my last one? Yes, you're reading this right! I followed the Christine rules of 'not breaking my frickin' nails' and was able to keep my left hand gorgeous and ready to be adorned by a sparkly beauty, and this time I chose Essie's Aim to Misbehave. But this isn't your average nail polish, this is Essie's 1000th shade, and thus, we should celebrate accordingly!
Ever since I posted my Essie inventory a few years ago, many people have approached me about nail polish recommendations from the drug store. Because I'm a recovering indie polish addict myself, I had underestimated how many people were interested in drug store polishes, especially brands with such popularity as Essie! So I made it a goal to alternate my Mani Monday posts to make sure I'm posting things people can actually buy. Except I then chose a limited edition Essie that is no longer for sale. My bad!
Regardless, this 1000th shade of Essie's is a gorgeous canary-gold shade with lots of yellow-gold flecks, making it stand out in a crowd. Released to celebrate Essie's 35th anniversary in 2016, it's unlike any other shade Essie has in their collection and comes with this cute little custom cap with "1000" and little gold flakes on it to highlight it as a special release.
Personally I don't actually own many yellow polishes, most are more gold than anything else, so I knew this one was special. I actually made sure to get TWO bottles of this, one to use and one is on display on my vanity as a very pretty back-up. But this is a showstopper polish that I imagine I'll wear more than the average polish, so I imagine I'll eventually crack that one open to use. But not for many years!
Formula-wise, the application of this polish is very easy. We all know Essie can be hit and miss with their brushes but this one seemed in fine form, it didn't give me major issues with flooding and only took TWO COATS for this beautiful opacity! Winner winner!
Now, because this product is a limited edition if you want to find it you'll have to be a detective. I HAVE seen it on sale on Amazon through third-party retailers though, and I actually got my second bottle for like, $2 in a warehouse sale in late 2017, so keep your eyes peeled!
Until next time...
