In a little under four weeks, I will be uprooting myself from the cozy apartment I've lived in for almost five years for another cozy house on the other side of town. I've already packed up a BUNCH of unused or gently used products, but there's so much more to do.
What does this mean for the blog?
That I've got a lot of empties to go through!
The Full Products
Nivea Water Lily & Oil Shower Gel
This took FOREVER FOR ME TO FINISH. I like Nivea products because they focus on moisturizing and nourishing the skin, but I'm boycotting anything that uses microbeads due to their horrendous impact on the environment, so I won't be repurchasing this shower gel. Rebuy? NOPE.
Pantene Aqua Light Weightless Conditioning Shake
I have truly thick hair and when I get out of the shower it's an entire ordeal to dry it. This product is a very lightweight detangler that requires a few shakes to activate and leaves my hair much easier to blow dry and comb through. The smell is very light and settles rather quickly so it's not overwhelming nor do you smell of hairspray. But I prefer KMS's Free Shape Blow Dry so I won't be rebuying this product.
Garnier Fresh 25 Cleansing Cloths
I always need a pack of facial wipes around to wipe down my face when I'm too lazy to take the time to wash my makeup off properly. The Garnier product worked well for taking off my face, but the scent was WAY too strong and I couldn't use this wipe ANYWHERE near my eyes whatsoever, so it wasn't really that useful as a makeup remover. Won't repurchase.
Garnier Fresh Eye Makeup Remover
This product does the trick, but it irritated my eyes if I used too much of it or left it near my eye for too long. Something that you PROBABLY DON'T WANT in an eye makeup remover. If I used too much of it, my eyes would get itchy. NOT repurchasing. (C'mon Garnier, get it together!)
Degree Motion Sense Cotton Fresh
Every few months I dream that I'll start using Tom's or J/A/S/O/N products to remove the aluminium from my deodorant. Then I remember that I stink and sweat a lot! This product is perfect for somebody with an active lifestyle. Will absolutely rebuy.
Cake Delectables Triple Moisture Body Lotion Lemon & Cream
This is honestly one of my favourite hand creams of all time. Cake's products smell like dessert, but they also do the trick by keeping your skin moisturized and supple. The product absorbs into your skin rather easily and can soothe the person with even the driest skin.Totally will rebuy.
The Face Shop Real Nature Mask Rice
My friend gave me this sheet mask awhile ago and I finally took the time to use it! This was my first sheet mask EVER (only classic mud or food-based ones for me!) and I have to say I enjoyed it. The scent was very light, and the product didn't irritate my sensitive skin. I felt like my skin was improved after using it and for $2? It's a pretty good treat for once a week or every other week. Will rebuy (and I already have!)
The Samples
Kérastaste Reflection Chrome Captive
I was intriqued by this shampoo because it smells like roses when lathered, but unfortunately this smell fades away at the end of the shower. I actually liked this product, I felt it made my hair shiny, but not greasy. and it made my hair more maneagable after a shower. Might rebuy.
Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner
A basic Pantene conditioner. It can leave a little build-up if you use too much of it, but it's not bad for dry ends if you're in a pinch or in-between products. Won't rebuy.
H2O+ Marine Cleansing Gel
I just reviewed this in my Beauty Box 5 post from earlier this week. It's a decent product but I'm stopping my use of anything with microbeads. Will not rebuy.
Yves Rocher Self-Defense Eyes
I don't commit to any 'eye-wrinkle' creams or serums, but I definitely like a good eye cream because moisturizer is too harsh for my sensitive skin. This was a decent product but it's nothing special.* Won't rebuy.*
B. Kamins Day Lotion SPF 15
I got this in a beauty box last year and was a bit 'meh' at first glance. Then I learned not to judge a book by its cover! In January and February when I was suffering from some really bad skin, I looked up this brand and discovered they come highly recommended for people with bad or sensitive skin. This was a great moisturizer to get me through winter, with a decent amount of SPF and it acted as a good primer for makeup. Might rebuy.
The Foils
I'm not going to review all of these because it's hard to really review a product based on a foil, and I think some of these were expired. So here's the high (and low) lights.
Eucerin Anti-Wrinkle Day & Night
This was the REAL discovery for me from my foils. I'd never tried Eucerin before and I was shocked to see how absorbant, soothing and soft their moisturizers were. I ued both the day and night formula and my skin felt AMAZING afterwards. Totally rebuying and replacing my Clinique moisturizer with this!
Kiehls' Ultra Facial Moisturizer
This stuff is fantastic. I'm sure we all know this by now.
Garnier Clean+ Nourishing Cleansing Oil
Garnier for the win! After disappointing me DISMALLY with the makeup remover and facial wipes, this oil cleanser gets the job DONE. It's fantastic as a makeup remover, leaves the skin clean and smooth and doesn't smell too strong. It's not as good as my Shu Uuemura but it's pretty good for drugstore. Might rebuy.
Nivea Rich Moisturizing Care
I honestly thought I had this product in my arsenal, but this is a slightly thicker formula that is a BIT too rich. It clogged my pores. No thanks, not rebuying.
Kiss my Face Creamy Face Cleanser
I was disappointed in this product because I've heard (and had) good experiences with their environmentally friendly products, just not this one. It reminded me of Philosophy's Purity, but less effective. It didn't remove any makeup and my skin didn't feel really clean after using it. Won't rebuy.
And that's all folks! Did you discover anything new this month? Do you agree or disagree with any of my reviews? Comment, comment, comment!
