It's the long weekend here in Canada and instead of soaking up the rays or lounging on a deck, I've worked every single day. But at least it's given me a lot of time to browse for some fun summer favourites. It is a bit hard to watch people headed to the beach or a concert however. Therefore, many of these products will be a little summer-inspired to keep my mind outside instead of indoors ;)
Benefit Operation Pore-Proof Kit
Regular readers of the blog know that I'm a huge fan of Benefit's makeup products, particularly their blushes and brow kits, but have I talked about their shine-free products? As a moderately oily girl, I love the variety of products that Benefit offers to keep shine at bay, and for those looking to try out a few of those products for less, this kit is for you! This kit is great for a travel sized arsenal, containing the POREfessional primer, Porefessional: license to blot stick, Dr. Feelgood balm, The POREfessional: Agent zero shine powder and the elusive Shy Beam — a matte highlighter!

The Knockoff: A Novel
I've been powering through the Attack on Titan manga series this summer (not a fluffy series by any means, but definitely pulpy!) but I just picked up this book to fill my 'beach read' quota! The Knockoff reads like a modern-day 'All About Eve' but set in the magazine industry (naturally) with an editor-in-chief discovering that her twentysomething former assistant is gunning for her job! It sounds FABULOUS and I can't wait to tear through it.

Origins Masker Trio
Multi-masking is ALL THE RAGE this summer. And while many of us mask afficionados have been doing it for years, companies are just starting to realize this fact. Not many brands sell kits with multiple masks in it so it can be expensive to get started. Origins doesn't QUITE understand the mask trend, but this is a good first attempt with three solid products. Their Clear Improvement Active Charcoal mask is one of my all-time favourites, I've heard wonderful things of Drink Up Intensive for parched skin, and a good microdermabrasion is great to keep your skin soft and clean. Also? Not a bad price!

John Fluevog - Determination
I feel a bit ridiculous looking at booties considering it's still Birkenstock and sandal season, but these soft leather casual booties are so bright and smashing that they'd fit right in this August. Only problem? They aren't available in my size online anymore! But I can at least admire them from afar. Or stuff the shoe with 3 sizes worth of tissue! (Seriously, I'm a 6.5/7 at most and these puppies are only available in 10. No humanity!) But the fact that Fluevog makes repeated appearances in The Covet Clique means I think I should grab a pair for this fall, right?
