Friday may be the first day of spring but with the evenings still resting at sub-zero temperatures, it certainly doesn't feel like it! But at least my fingers tell a different story.
There's something to be said when it's cold and grey outside, but your nails are the colour of all that grass that's supposed to be growing. Or the leaves that are supposed to be budding.
Today's March Madness Mani? Revlon's Wintermint & Lime Basil!
These two pretty polishes are from Revlon's Parfumerie line, an unfortunately short-lived collection that you can still occasionally find at beauty liquidators or online. I was drawn to these polishes for their adorable, chic bottles, but I come back to them because of their small, precise brushes, their fun smells and their consistent formula.
Revlon is usually a solid buy when it comes to drugstore polish, but the thin brush and smooth texture of these polishes and their unique scents makes these really fun bottles for any collector. I have a small handful of them and I'm always looking to collect more.
Lime Basil is a soft kelly green that only took two thin coats for full coverage, and it SMELLS LIKE A MOJITO!And while most of the Parfumerie polish scents fade after about 48 hours but I still get a citrus-y whiff from these almost four days later.
Wintermint is a fun mint-green polish with blue matte glitter and lighter micro-glitters that looks a lot like a poor-man's version of Deborah Lippmann's Mermaid's Dream. I actually applied this over a coat of Lime Basil after I changed my mind mid-mani to incorporate an accent nail. Generally I find I need at least three coats of this polish for decent coverage, but it would be interesting to experiment with different base polishes. The mint smell is fun but unfortunately faded rather quickly.
Are you enjoying my walk through greener pastures? What's your favourite green polish?
