After going through TONS of stuff during May and my sample-challenge, I didn't have much in my pile for June and July. But I did go through a few full-size and mid-size products that were taking up space. See which dry shampoo reigns supreme and how I really feel about certain face masks ;)
Love It
Herbal Essences Naked Conditioner
I was sad to see this stuff go away because it was SO SUSPRISINGLY GOOD. My hair is so fine and most conditioners leave it greasy and oily and actually, more tangly. But this stuff was SO GOOD as my review here can attest. (Yeah, it does take me that long to finish conditioner.)
L'Oreal Ombrelle 45 Sport Sunscreen
I wouldn't usually put sunscreen in a review post but this stuff was a hit in my house. I'd never tried spray-sunscreen before because I assumed it would be really oily, but it spreads so evenly on your skin and has barely any sunscreen-y smell. So yeah, woo SPF! Save your skin! Enjoy the last week of summer!
Secret Outlast Clear Gel Ooh-La-La Lavender
This stuff is awesome. While the Ooh-la-la Lavender scent is a little stronger than what I usually wear (I'm a powder or unscented girl myself), it's still a great buy. There's no worries about getting stains on your clothes with this formula either. Check my review here.
Amika Dry Shampoo
I have to say, of all the aerosol dry shampoos I've used the last few years, this one is my hands-down favourite. It doesn't leave my hair a sticky, crunchy mess at the end of the day, and it smells fresh and pleasant, not like chemicals. Too bad it's a bit pricey for my tastes.
Montagne Jeunesse Very Berry Face Mask
I won a stack of these in a contest earlier in the year and while they may look like the same old face masks you remember from junior high, they're even BETTER now! This mask is shiny, purple and luscious. It literally smells like blueberry pie and left my skin super hydrated and moisturized. I'll take 10 more.
OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C
This is my first spin around the dance floor with hyaluronic acid but it certainly won't be my last. This serum helped keep my skin moisturized and plump, and quickly settled into my skin. It wasn't too sticky like a lot of other oils and serums and I totally replaced a bunch of other products with this one now!
Pur~lisse pur~protect spf 30
A gentle, nice smelling moisturizer that's a great buildable base for makeup and also offers 30 spf? Sign me up. I'm set for life. Check please!
Embyrolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate
The tube was almost too small to tell, but this stuff feels like fluffy clouds rubbing your face. Fluffy. Clouds. Rubbing. Your. Face. Go buy a vat of it.
Skip It
The Face Shop Mung Bean Face Mask
I'm usually a huge fan of these Face Shop masks but this one just didn't do as much for my skin. This mask is specifically for pore cleansing and I don't require that type of skincare so it just, didn't really make an impression. They have a bunch of other, better masks. Try those instead.
Jergens Soothing Aloe
What can I say? It's Jergens. It hydrates and moisturizes and is a winter staple, EXCEPT THIS SCENT IS SO STRONG. I can't handle this stuff as a regular moisturizer so I was using it up at work as hand lotion for the last two years I SWEAR. And it's done, woo-hoo!
Not Soap Radio
This was a pretty normal body wash but sold for 3x the price of regular body wash. Skip it!
Cerave Moisturizing Cream
Meh, meh, meh. This moisturizer doesn't absorb at all, it just sits on yer face.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
I've heard so many good things about this dry shampoo, but I really thought it was overrated. It's no better or worse than the other drug-store brands like Dove or Tresemme. It smelled too much of chemicals and left a white filmy residue on my hair. Definitely not repurchasing.
Shiseido...something
Honestly whatever this was, it didn't make an impact ;)
And that's that! August is a bit quiet too, so the next empties post won't be until late September. Do you love anything I hate? Hate anything I love? Let me know!
