By the pricking in my thumbs, something wicked this way comes. And by wicked I mean awesome, and by something, I mean Bite Beauty is stepping away from the matte-life and jumping towards glossy, shiny lipstick goodness with their new line of Liquified Lipsticks and I am HERE. FOR. IT. πππ
As we all know, I'm a huge lipstick lover and sometimes I feel like I've tried pretty much every liquid lipstick under the sun at this point. But to be honest? I'm over it. Truly. I have a few absolute ride or dies that will stay with me until they've completely dried up, but I'm tired of dehydrating my lips or smothering them in a layer of lip- paint. My lips need to BREATHE! And luckily, Bite Beauty does not disappoint with this new line of lippies.
Bite Beauty's Liquified Lipstick range promises to deliver a very different kind of liquid lipstick from the one we've spent years getting used to. Instead of being a hyper-drying matte formula, the new Liquified Lipsticks offer a pseudo-glossy look, with a moisturizing and richly pigmented blast of colour. They are all the things matte lipsticks aren't: Moisturizing, Glossy and NOT transfer-proof.And I'm loving it.
I tried three of the colours in the line. Flambe which is a gorgeous orangey/poppy red, Demi Glace is a warm, plummy brown, and Eclair which is a medium/rosey pink, and all three of them wore fabulously for several hours. The lipstick felt a bit tacky after application but it wore down nicely and lasted quite a long time on my lips. I used the Bite Beauty Primer to help set the lipstick and found it did not move or feather when I paired the two together. Without the primer I did see a little feathering, but not enough that would bother me greatly.
Because these lippies are so highly pigmented, the shine did wear off throughout the day, but I found it faded quite evenly and allowed for easy re-application after excessive eating and drinking. Because this is a non-drying liquid lipstick, I didn't require any crazy or complicated product to remove the lipstick at the end of the day, it came off neatly.
I'd say the consistency of this product reminded me of a thicker and less glossy version of Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss, with the unmistakable fresh, organic scent of a Bite Beauty lipstick.
When I first received the lipsticks, I thought that Demi Glace would be my favourite because I tend to gravitate towards dark lipsticks as we go from summer to fall, but to my surprise, I COMPLETELY fell in love with Flambe! While I LOVE red lipsticks and own quite a bit, I have to say that I wear red less than once a week, but Flambe has won me over and I find myself constantly reaching for this colour now. It's just so gorgeous and striking, and since it's a tackier/more solid texture, it doesn't feather which I find happens so easily with my other red lipsticks.
You can find the Bite Beauty Liquified Lipsticks for $28CA exclusively at Sephora. I'm totally going to return and test out some other colours like Stir (bright magenta) Chiffonade (coral) and especially Puree (burnt orange.)
Are you looking forward to this new collection? Let me know which of the three you think works on me the best!
I received these products for review from Bite Beauty and Influenster, but all opinions are my own.
