This is the fifth in my series of posts about my April Lipstick Challenge. Learn about the challenge and the rules, or check out what I wore for days 1-8, days 9-12 and days 13-16!

So I'm rounding out to the end of this challenge and a few things are clear to me now:

• I'm really bad at remembering to take daily selfies!
• I like to buy 'trend colours' against my better judgement
• I hate many scented formulas (like L'Oreal!)
• I have way, way too many hot pinks!

The entire reason I started this challenge was to eliminate products in my collection that I was ambivalent about or disliked. It's one thing to skip over a lipstick in your bag but it's an entirely different thing to be forced to wear it and officially test it out. Without this challenge I'm sure many of the duds this month would hang around indefinitely, but this way I'm letting them go and I'm not worrying about my sunk costs.

• L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Orange Tempo

This adorable dual-sided lipstick from Cover Girl offers two very different yet complimentary looks in one product. Perky offers a creamy coral red on one side, and a shimmery baby pink on the other. You can blend the two together, or use one as the base for the other, basically play around to find your favourite combination. I generally just use the creamy side as this coral-fuschia hue is gorgeous and rests neatly on the lips. It has some staying power and doesn't transfer too much. It's my go-to summer shade and the versatility of a dual-sided lipstick offers a variety of ways to wear it and make it your own.

OCC Lip Tar - Roller Girl

Ugh. I generally can't say enough positive things about my OCC Lip Tar product because they are so gorgeous, unique and vivid. Roller Girl was a bold purchase I made last fall and I couldn't be happier about it. OCC Lip Tars come in a little tube and you use a lip-brush to apply it on the lips. A pea-sized drop is all you need. This lavender lip tar is super buildable and turns into this GLORIOUS shade of purple after just a few swipes. As with all my lip tars, I recommend using a primer and letting it set a good 20 minutes before applying the lip tar. It adheses better that way. But I can put on this colour, go out, have a few drinks, and still have a colourful pout by the end of the night. I always get compliments on this shade and can't wait to add another to my collection.

Clinique - Precious Pink

From the bold to the blah. This Clinique has been kicking around my makeup bag for awhile, I think it was a gift with purchase product perhaps? I've rrely worn it and I've never really enjoyed it. It pretends to be a creamy pink but it includes a very small bit of shimmer, more of a frost really. It's rough enough to drag uncomfortably on the lips as you build the colour. This was about three drags of product and for such a light look and it felt very heavy. Some people rave about this colour but it's never really impressed me and I'm happy saying goodbye to it.

Belvada Harmony - Intense Red

Belvada's Harmony lipstick is similar to Cover Girl's Blast Flipstick in that it offers two products in one convenient container. But instead of offering two DIFFERENT colours, Belvada gives you a colour and a super hydrating lip balm! Each product is smaller, obviously, than a regular full-size product but you can even buy refills if you need to. While I wouldn't say this is the most intense red that I own, it's a really smooth formula, it's not drying, and it leaves a good stain on the lips.

I've already written about these lovely L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire glosses before, both in this challenge and without, and I can't rave enough. Despite not enjoying pretty much ANY of the other L'Oreal products in this challenge thus far (their lipstick scent is so GROSS to me) their glosses are a different story. These are buildable, with a soft fruity flavour and this coral is great sheer or opaque. Grab one, or more, of these while you can!

And to cap off this post, I have my first official veto: NYC Matte Soft Beige. This colour is not meant to be worn alone, it's for blending and ombre only. It's so flesh-toned on me that it's a bit creepy to wear alone. I just couldn't walk out of the house wearing it!
