A good, old fashioned Ontario winter just wouldn't be complete without the ever-shifting humidity index. One day it's damp and cold and you're chilled to the bone, the next it's a dry cold, but at least you can get out of your house. Then it rains. And freezes. And we start all over again. If there's one thing that I desperately need at this time of year it's a way to preserve my body's moisture. And that's where Camp Skincare's Vanilla Moon body oil can help.

I've already embraced oils as a beneficial part of my regimen for my face and my hair, and I've used body oils from some major brands before, but I found they were either not the right price, weren't that effective, or that the scent was too overwhelming. I've even made my own with base oils and essential oils, but unless you have access and the funds to splurge on a lot of high quality oils, it won't be as effective as a professional batch.

I was a bit skeptical about Vanilla Moon at first, because I usually find vanilla to be a very tricky aroma and find most companies don't use it properly. It's usually too sickly sweet, or thick or creamy, but Camp Skincare knew exactly what to do with it. The base of Vanilla Moon is sweet almond oil, and the Madagascar vanilla in the product is softened with the use of additional ingredients like evening primrose oil, jojoba oil borage seed oil and vitamin e. Instead of smelling like dessert, you have an all together more delicate and earthy aroma instead. Vanilla Moon is best used straight out of the shower when you're still damp to lock in moisture, but I also applied it on my hands after doing dishes, and on my cuticles too.

Another big reason I'm excited to write about this product is because Camp Skincare is a Canadian company, dedicated to using 100% natural plant-based ingredients, They dont use sulfates, parabens, alcohol, solvents or other harmful additives that can irritate or take away from the benefits of their other ingredients. And to make it better? They're from Toronto! Hometown pride! I've been trying to buy more Canadian products this year, so this was a great, local discovery made right here at home.
