Nail of the Day: Eat Sleep Polish - Soul One
September. Fall. Chunky knit sweaters. Pumpkin Spice lattes. HALLOWEEN! It's only a few weeks until leaves flame into colour and fall to the ground, settling in the gutters until the snow comes drifting down. I know I've turned my leaf. It's bronze, burgundy and burnt sienna from now on. Au revoir pink! So long baby blue! I'm switching over to my fall nail wardrobe now.
OK, c'mon, I'm kidding. You all know me! I love colour, I love neon, I'll wear coral in the middle of winter. I was just in the mood for a soft, dove-grey and Eat Sleep Polish's Soul Oneh was screaming to be used again, so off I went. (My boss actually commented aout my lack of bright nails, apparently I can still surprise people from time to time.)
Soul One was released in Fall 2014 as part of the Letters from a Porcupine collection, based on a song by Blind Melon. Unfortunately the polish is now sold-out but it was fairly popular so if you're lucky you might find somebody willing to trade for another pretty polish.
I think my favourite part about Soul One is how unassuming it is. On first glance it's just a really neat, clean, shiny dove grey. But upon closer inspection, and in direct sunlight, it's clear that this is a multi-faceted and gorgeous holo! It makes people take double takes and I catch myself distracted by it too.
With regards to the formula, this is a very easy thin two-coater. As much as I LOVE Eat Sleep Polish, I do find some of the polishes can get tacky after time, but Soul One is just as super smooth and offers no resistance. Wham, bam, pretty nails!
