Cadbury Mini-Egg Inspired Easter Nails
Easter bunnies may come and go, but Cadbury Mini Eggs are forever. While other kids would wait patiently for Halloween or Christmas for their candy fix, my favourite time of year for sugar-coated treats is and will always remain Easter. I only recently ended a love affair with Cadbury Cream Eggs (too many formula changes) but I will always be a slave to Cadbury Mini Eggs. It seems only appropriate I decorate my nails in their honour, no?
To replicate those dusty, gorgeous little eggs, I grabbed a few of my softer colours and went to work. For this look I used:
- Thumb: Essie's Full Steam Ahead - A pale lavender with a bit of shimmer
- Index: Essie's Bikini So Teeny - A periwinkle blue with a hint of silver shimmer
- Middle: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet - A mint green creme
- Ring: Deborah Lippmann's Groove is in the Heart - A bright baby pink, almost a Barbie pink creme
- Pinky - Revlon Parfumerie Sunlight Grass - A bright daffodil yellow
- All fingers - GOSH Matt Effect Top Coat
Of all the polishes, my favourite to use were the Essie's which only took two thin coats for a great coverage. They also look FABULOUS matte! The Sally Hansen, while a great colour, bubbled something fierce and took the LEAST to the top coat. The Deborah Lippmann & Revlon polishes could've used a third coat, but did alright and looked rather sweet when matte. Overall I think the top coat had the most interesting effect on Revlon's Sunlit Grass as it made an almost-mustard yellow more of a soft pastel yellow.
It seems I'm not the only one inspired by these tasty treats. Can't get enough of these nails? Here are some other great Easter-inspired nails:
