April 2015 Makeup and Beauty Empties
Are you as obsessed with empties posts as I am? I can't wait to read about everybody's finished products every month, sorry that mine was so late (I blame all my birthday celebrations, I lost track of time!)
Here's what I finished last month, the mighty month of April.
Skincare
Leaders Mediu Foot Peeling Mask Baby Soft Feet
This stuff is so crazy amazing, I can't believe I've never done a foot mask before and I don't know how I lived without it. I've already shared a review of the Leaders Mediu Baby Soft Feet on the blog, but all I can say is RUN, DON'T WALK, AND PUT YOUR FEET IN THIS MASK BAG!
Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer
This stuff is so amazing as a daily moisturizer, a great base for your makeup routine and generally just a bright, cheery product. It was fine for my sensitive skin and noticably freshened up my face. Read more in my review here.
Holika Holika Collagen + Pomegranate Face Mask
This was average for a face mask, nothing particularly amazing but I wouldn't hesitate to try it again. I've not tried many Holika Holika masks yet so I'll test a few varieties to see which one is more my jam.
Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus
I keep getting these in 'gift with purchase' packages from Clinique so this is a standard in my bathroom. The problem? I'm not sure if I even like it. It's a good night cream for sensitive skin but I'm not sure it tackles any of my problems (basically, lack of sleep and puffy eyes!)
Benefit It's Potent Eye Brightening Cream
There's a reason that products that tout active ingredients and botanticals shouldn't be in jars. 1) Bacteria can fester in them and 2) they get exposed to the air and DRY OUT AND GET GROSS. Ew. No thanks. I received this as a gift so I didn't buy it and lose money, but I did recently receive a smaller sample of it to test it out later.
Marcelle BB Cream Medium to Dark
This BB cream was way too dark for my skin. I found this during a recent purge and it was from a LUXEBOX I received at least a few years ago. It also looks like it leaked, so I didn't want to give it to somebody because it's probably expired.
Body Stuff
Roger and Gallet Fleur de Figuier Gentle Shower Cream
Fig! Orange! Grapefruit! This stuff smells AHHMAAAAZING! I had a small sample of thisand if I wasn't SWIMMING IN BODY WASH, I would immediately buy a gallon. It's so soothing and makes your shower smell like a SPA, A SPAAAAAAA!
Bath and Body Works Pink Chiffon Body Lotion
I'm not a gigantic fan of B&BW lotions because I find the fragrance to be overwhelming in 90% of the lotions, this one passes the sniff test. With pear, vanilla and a light musk scent, this lotion kept me from turning into a crocodile this winter. It's not bad for post-shower/pre-bedtime moisturizing on the cheap.
NIVEA In-Shower Body Milk Dry to Very Dry
Too lazy to moisturize after a shower? Or don't have enough time to wait for your body butter/lotion set before putting on your clothes and dashing out the door to work? If you're like ME then this is your next best bet. Use this after your body wash for a smooth, moisturized body post-shower! This stuff is interesting, I'd suggest giving it a try. Especially if we have a really hot and dry summer.
Missha Healing Snail 3D Sheet Mask
A friend dropped this off to me because I like beauty stuff, but I REALLY THINK it's because the snail scared her! Despite the packaging, it smells just as normal as any other mask, and has the same texture. My big complaint with this mask is that it's 3D which means it has a chin cup? It was also really easy to tear. I don't think this made a big difference for me.
Whish Exfoliating Body Wash
Meh meh meh meh. Smells like vanilla coconut infused plastic. Not scrubby enough for a scrub, not soapy enough for a wash. I was just as confused when I first used it up until I finished it.
Lip & Nail Stuff
Well, I just finished the April Lipstick Challenge and ditched the nine lipsticks pictured here. Read this blogpost for my final commentary on these lipsticks if you're ever so curious. I chucked NINE lipsticks so you can add that to this tally!
Clinique Long Lasting Glosswear in Air & Superbalm in Mango Tint
When I was purging lip products in anticipation of the April Lipstick Challenge I found these old glosses. They both don't give much colour and are uber sticky. Avoid them. That is all.
Body Drench Candylicious Peppermint Stick
I absolutely love this lip balm, it's super refreshing, very moisturizing and healing, and it's the best peppermint balm I've ever owned. I just wish the tube was more standard size. It's very delicate in this skinny tube and broke on me twice when I was just twisting it up.
CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat
For the first 75% of the bottle, this was my NEW FAVOURITE OBSESSION. I loved this topcoat. It made gorgeous, smooth, gel-like nails on any finish. Then the formula got stickier and stickier and eventually I couldn't even do one swipe on my nail anymore. There's a good 20-30% of useless product in this bottle. I think that's why it's in a dark bottle so you can't see how much is wasted. Boo!
And that's all folks! Next month will be FULL of foil packets and samples, stay tuned!
